Bad breath is off-putting and one of the quickest ways to keep a lover from wanting to kiss you, and to keep people from wanting to talk with you.
Unfortunately, bad breath is common during the middle of the day in between morning and night time brushing, and it's an issue most people struggle to deal with after eating certain foods, especially garlic during the day.
There are some solutions to the problem though. Some people turn to gum, others rely on breath mints but one of the simplest solutions may actually be fresh parsley.
Cut the Odors
Fresh parsley is rich in chlorophyll, which is a well-known odor fighting compound that can help freshen the breath in numerous ways. By chewing on fresh parsley that chlorophyll is released and it works to neutralize the compounds that cause bad odors in the mouth. Studies show that parsley is particularly good at neutralizing garlic smells.
So, if you've been eating foods heavy with garlic, consider adding some parsley to the menu at the end of the meal. It doesn't hurt that parsley is rich with nutrients and an excellent food to eat on a regular basis as well.
Parsley is a good tool for temporarily improving your breath, but it's no replacement for good oral hygiene and taking the time to remove all the plaque in your mouth a few times a day. Make sure that you're brushing and flossing with proper technique and often enough, and bad breath issues will be less of a problem for you.
