Do you regularly turn to a sports drink to prevent dehydration? If so, you may want to stop doing that. Sports drinks are incredibly acidic, and they can quickly and easily cause a significant amount of damage to your teeth.

They are actually one of the worst things that we consume when it comes to the amount of damage it can leave behind. Instead, you may want to go with a natural hydrator - coconut water. It is really good at keeping you hydrated, and doesn't have anywhere near the same type of issues with your teeth.

There Are Some Great Coconut Water Mixture That Can Keep You Hydrated

Professional athletes, construction workers, and those who do bodybuilding for a living are examples of people who really need to stay hydrated. They are working hard for numerous hours a day, and losing a lot of electrolytes as the day goes on.

However, by slamming a sports drink, they are putting a lot of acid into their systems that the body has to then recover from. By opting for a more natural source of hydration, your body doesn't have to try and adjust.

When you drink sports drinks, the first thing your body has to do is change around the pH of your mouth to become highly basic. This is to counteract the acid, and leave your mouth in more neutral territory. Instead, by going with coconut water, you don't have to put your body through that type of adjustment. Your body can work with coconut water immediately, and help keep you hydrated without the toll.

Ask your dentist about what they recommend when it comes to staying hydrated. Their opinion is going to be what helps keep your teeth healthy and your smile strong, after all.
